 Dear all,  As you know , we prepare a great exceptional event over 4 days at All Saints' day 2008. ABCDF, the French Bass and Double-bass Society, invites you to attend the 2nd International Bass Symposium at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (www.CNSMDP.fr), the first to be held in France since “Bass 94” in Avignon. Events will include:  * A competition comprising a mini-bass section with 4 levels for ages 7 to 18 years old, and for adults: solo, orchestra, jazz and contemporary music sections. * Conferences, concerts and recitals, in all styles from classical to jazz, for double-bass and electric bass, featuring many internationally renowned artists from around the world. * Exhibits by prominent bass luthiers from many countries. * Performance of a piece for 100 double-basses and 2 electric basses. The composition competition was a succes ( more than 20 manuscipts). The choice is already done in 2 rounds with proeminent composers: 1st round: Graziane FINZI, TON THAT THIET, Thierry PECOU,Jean-Jacques WERNER and Georges KAN. 2nd round: ( execution with 5 doublebassists ) Jacques Deshaulles , Emil Tabakov and Didier Goury.
